the legendary EQUINOX

shiny shiny lift buttons and thank god they removed the cliche elevator music. but to my demise the lousy-very-lousy elevator music was echoed throughout ..

the whole EQUINOX itself. so you could hear the instrumental versions of "careless whisper", "i just called to say i love you"etc.. wad a killer to the cuisine.

here's some nice mushroom soup (obviously has a more atas name which i forgot, some cuppacino fungi or watever)

some mud crab. with real crab flesh!

was so excited to taste foie gras for my first time (yes yes, country bumpkin, get over it) ...

can someone say i'm not into these fine culinary food? foie gras tasted like.. the roasted suckling pig's fat (we usually eat the roasted skin right?) and some bad mayonnaise mixed and squeezed into a weiner shape. tsk! (the white stuff is cream, the rectangle thing is sponge sweet cake, and droplets of marmalade all around. the sausage lookalike is the foie gras)

the main course, miso cod with edamame beans drizzled with some unique teriyaki sauce. PALATABLE and the salmon flesh is so nice, its meat is nicely shredded with a touch of a fork, still a bit firm for that touch of freshness.

and of course, dessert, orgasmically good. some chocolate truffle, mint sorbet and some menthol syrup. so nice i had to pose dumb-ass-ly.

"wahhhh, sugar cubes! brown and white some more lehhh" [i'm kidding]

and finally, near the lift lobby. breathtaking.

to that special buddy of many years!

wow. okay, what turned out sour for us turned out to be the start of a beautiful friendship, i'm glad we're there for each other though time and army and schooling doens't really allow it. next time drinks on me okay!
